Company visit to QRM pioneer PMC
This company visit is fully booked!
PMC produces a diverse range of metal parts in Bruges. It was one of the first companies in Belgium to embrace quick response manufacturing. This strategy focuses on reducing lead times to gain a competitive advantage. With the QRM strategy, the company managed to convert itself into a successful supplier. This caught the attention of their main customer, Pattyn Packing Lines, which as a result decided to acquire the company in 2017.
The company strongly focused on setting up cells with multifunctional employees in both production and office environments. This approach gives the company the flexibility it needs to cope well with fluctuations in work volume, keeping lead times short. To improve control on the shop floor, PMC also chose the digital shop floor control software, PROPOS, which it learned about during a visit to the Dutch company Bosch Scharnieren.
More information on this company's QRM transformation can be found here.
