Elena Tsiporkova is head of the Data and AI Competence Lab (EluciDATA Lab) at Sirris. She has been active for almost 30 years in the fields of data analytics and AI in very diverse application domains e.g. speech processing, bioinformatics, multimedia, sustainable energy, manufacturing, product-usage monitoring, …. Elena is in the unique position to have extensive technological R&D experience, both in an academic and an industrial environment. She obtained her PhD in Applied Maths from UGent at the time when mostly methodological aspects of AI systems were researched. Practically, there was no data!
