Vincent Lucas

Engineer Intelligent Systems

My mission is to make your new products  smarter. Whether your innovation goal is to help a device get more information about its environment, to control a device with software, to add ‘brains’ through computer vision or neural networks when it makes sense, to model uncertainties, or anything else … I’m happy to help. Together, we can create products that better meet the needs of your customer base.

Expertise

Embedded software with emphasis on position/attitude determination
Mechanical simulations
Stochastics

Work experience

For Spacebel, I worked on embedded software for the Euclid spacecraft. Later on, in the context of a post-doc position at ULiège,  I did research involving fracture simulations, Bayesian inference and neural networks. Next, at ALX Systems the emphasis in my job was on the positioning and control of autonomous vehicles (rover and drones), as well as on computer vision aspects (QR codes, object detection, SLAM with orb features). In 2022 I joined Sirris to embark on a new and challenging journey.

Studies

Master in aerospace engineering at ULiege (2012)
PhD in Stochastic Multi-scale Modelling of Mems at ULiège (2016)

Professional motto

“Keep things as simple as possible.” – Someone wise

Fun fact

I game, write and draw. Fortunately, having fun is more important to me than being good at it. 😉
