Areas of Expertise

  • (Bio)polymer processing
  • Nanotechnology
  • Packaging

Professional Experience

I have built my expertise in (bio)polymers and sustainable materials through hands-on research and project work. During my PhD at Hasselt University, I investigated the process-structure-property relationships of biopolymer nanocomposites, focusing on innovative applications for packaging. This research sharpened my skills in processing and analyzing coatings, films, particles, and fibers. Before that, as a project engineer in the Materials and Packaging Research & Services group at Hasselt University, I supported businesses with testing and analysis of (bio)polymers and cardboard materials, optimizing packaging performance for a wide range of industries. I also contributed to research on life cycle analysis (LCA) for circular stretch films, advancing solutions that align with the principles of the circular economy.

Studies

  • Doctor of Engineering Technology, Hasselt University, 2024
  • Master of Packaging Engineering Technology, Hasselt University/KU Leuven, 2018
