The participants will be able to execute company-wide QRM-projects, perform basic training for colleagues, develop a team mindset and drive change management at leadership level.

Course programme

The course is designed for participants who are working on an actual QRM transformation in their company. The training consists of class courses on some advanced topics as well as individual and group coaching during their actual QRM transformation. The training encompasses the following modules:

  • Module 1: Change management and transformation skills
The module equips the participants with the key skills needed to launch and guide a QRM transformation project. You will learn how to clarify the desired future, discover the key focus areas for a successful change and set the necessary steps towards the desired outcome in your organisation. The participants will also experience different ways on how to deal with transition problems and resistance.
  • Module 2: Leadership
Leadership is a critical success factor for every QRM transformation. This module provides insights into the required leadership behaviour, teaches the participants to diagnose the leadership issues and initiate the necessary steps towards the right leadership culture.
  • Module 3: Planning and control for QRM companies
This module looks at managing the right balance between the demand and the capacity at the long term through the Sales & Operations Planning process, discusses the tactical planning for the mid-term and short-term operational control at the shop floor. Several exercises and a POLCA simulation game are used to illustrate the concepts in this module.
  • Module 4: Company-wide application of QRM: the financial perspective
This module deepens the understanding of accounting calculations, teaches how to financially justify QRM projects using practical exercises and discusses the role of finance in a QRM organization.
  • Module 5: Advanced system dynamics
This module expands the system dynamics concepts from the individual work centre level to a system of work centres and encompasses propagation dynamics of variability in systems, simulation of production systems, practical calculations of the impact of variability reductions, set-up time optimisation and lot sizing.
  • Module 6: Application of QRM
The actual application of the QRM principles in the own company is the ultimate source of learning for the participants. Challenges encountered, progress made and lessons learned during their transformation projects will serve as a source of reflection and learning for the whole group. Participants will be able to receive direct support from the trainers during their projects.
  • Module 7: Individual and group coaching
This module enhances the coaching skills of the participants by giving them ample opportunity to coach each other on their QRM transformation projects and get feedback about the effectiveness of their interventions. The coaching can take place during individual or group sessions.

Certification

Participants can receive the QRM Institute Gold degree after successfully completing the examination and on the condition that at least 75% of the training course was attended. The examination consists of a theory exam and the evaluation of the participant’s report on a QRM transformation project.

For whom?

The course is aimed specifically at staff people and managers who are deeply involved in QRM transformation projects. Participants must have successfully completed the QRM Institute Silver course or an equivalent program. An online intake interview will be held with the participants to ensure the fit between the goals of the participant and the program content.
