Carl Emmerechts

As Lead Engineer of the Sirris Product Development Hub, Carl Emmerechts has been involved in numerous industrial projects and applied research for over 25 years. His preferred technical fields are oriented towards the mechanical aspects of products: the mechanical design of light, micro and smart products, including assemblies and components of plastic, metal, composite and hybrid parts, and also the mastery of CAD tools and all types of structural analysis by finite elements.Furthermore, he has in-depth knowledge of the properties of plastic materials and their uses, simulation of the injection moulding process.

Carl has fifteen years of experience in thermal management including dozens of contributions to industrial projects, in-depth knowledge of the modelling tools of computational fluid dynamics and thermal analysis, as well as technical solutions and advanced materials in the field of thermal management.

He has an excellent understanding of the printing technologies of electrical and dielectric tracks on non-standard substrates and he is at the initiative of the introduction of the screen-printing technique of electrical tracks in the Product Development Hub.

His knowledge is put to practical use in many industrial sectors: automobiles and transportation, medical devices, defence, aerospace, electronics, lighting, etc. His capacity to manage complex and multiple projects within Sirris and with outside partners is one of the pillars of the Product Development Hub.
