Streamlined processes producing seamless kitchen and home interior design

Emmanuel Fraeye, based in Ardooie, designs, builds and fits bespoke kitchens and interiors. To ensure that it can complete every project on time without compromising on quality, the company has streamlined its business processes with the help of Sirris.

Designing and fitting kitchens and interiors is a complex business because of the wide range of fields of expertise and many different parties involved. As a result, this process is prone to errors and delays: two problems that, however, can be avoided completely if everyone always has the right information at the right time and the processes are streamlined. A team of employees worked on this alongside specialists from Sirris.

Numerous refinements

To reduce the chance of errors to a minimum, the company's employees made some key improvements. They refined the project templates they were using, so as to avoid misunderstandings and missing information. They also improved communications between the relevant departments by holding weekly reviews. The planning, the concept development and the final design were then evaluated.

The processes in the design and engineering offices were also refined. This included introducing a planning board so that the department staff members always know which tasks are coming their way. Moreover, some fixed design components were standardised so that the same work does not have to be repeated all the time.

Continuous improvement

The employees' concerted efforts mean that the company's internal processes are now much more streamlined. However, as there is always room for improvement, a few members of the office staff get together each week to further refine the processes and tackle any areas for improvement. This is done using a visual board on which these improvement actions are tracked with Post-it notes.
